As Dharma School classes are in recess for the summer, there are just a few things to report. The Dharma School choir joined the Adult choir for an Obon Service presentation of "Seasons of Obon" composed by Misaye Abiko. Thank you to Amy and Alice for their dedication to the program and the Dharma School students and families for their participation. The presentation was greatly appreciated by the Sangha.

The Dharma School taiko students are preparing for the Sunday opening taiko herald at our Obon bazaar. Our Dharma School taiko members will also be joining San Jose Taiko when they perform "Eijanaika" on the outdoor stage Sunday afternoon. Please come out to support them. A multitude of thanks to Pam Murotsune for her long-standing devotion to Dharma School taiko and to Deborah Nagai-Cromer for coming out this year to assist and substitute for Pam. The students continue to improve, motivated by their instruction and creativity.

Lastly, we would like to thank and recognize the following people for their generous donations: The Ogawa family (in honor of Stacey's college graduation), Emma Iwasaki and Aiko Joo.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL SERVICE

Our annual Back-to-School Service and Dharma School registration will be on Sun September 9 at 10:00 AM. Lunch will be provided. Mark it on your calendar!
