Journey through the Unknown –The Japanese American Experience during
World War II will feature speakers, displays, and artifacts related to
events that took place before, during, and after World War II.
The purpose is to give exposure to the evacuation of more than 120,000
people of Japanese ancestry (two-thirds of whom were U.S. citizens) from the
West coast during World War II, those who fought in the U.S. military to defend
their honor, and the evacuees’ eventual return to the West coast.
