The Palo Alto Buddhist Temple (PABT) has been a spiritual and cultural anchor and sacred landmark in Palo Alto for over 115 years. It has offered individuals, families and supporting organizations a cherished place to practice and experience the Dharma through religious, cultural, educational, and community activities.
Unfortunately, the Temple is facing a significant financial burden due to critical infrastructure damage including roof failures, water leaks, termite infestation, safety and compliance needs, electrical updates and more. What began as historic wear and tear has escalated into an emergency that threatens the Temple’s ability to remain open in the future.
If you’ve been to the Temple recently, you will see many areas under repair. Costs have been partially covered by a historic fund created by member families to sustain the Temple for future generations. Unfortunately, that fund has been exhausted by 80% without completion of all repairs, resulting in the formation of this campaign by the Temple Board. Please consider donating through the methods below to help PABT continue to serve our community and Sangha.

Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes, all donations to the Palo Alto Buddhist Temple (“PABT”) are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
Will I receive a receipt?
Yes, you will receive an email receipt immediately after your online donation is verified. If you mail in or drop off a donation to the temple office, a hard copy receipt will be mailed to you.
The temple will incur a processing fee for donations made by credit card, but will issue a receipt for the full amount of your donation. If you use a credit card to make your donation, the temple would welcome an additional 4% contribution to cover its processing costs. Alternatively, you may help the temple avoid this processing fee by making your donation in a check (or by cash) to the PABT.
